Peter McVerry has also written several books including The meaning is in the shadows and was given the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 2014. The Peter McVerry Trust, which was founded in 1983, has over 300 properties and growing, provides over 1,600 residential placements per night and had an operating budget of over €30 million in 2019.
